The bee hive is the productive unit of a bee farm. It is the place where your colony is lodged and it is also where the honey is produces and finally it is the place where you might get stung while you are working on your bee project.

Most of the professional bee keepers know for sure what constitutes the bee hive supplies that are essential for performing all the duties of bee keepers. These tools are in most cases not expensive. However, do not let the cheap prices fool you. These tools and supplies are indispensable.

- The hook

The hook is your handy tool that will let you get the frames off when they are full of honey. You can do this with one hand and without entering your hand inside the hive. The hook is made of metal and most likely from stainless steel. It has a curved end to hold the frame.

- The scraper

It is the second half of the hook. After you get the frames off out of the hive, you need to rip all the honey of it. It is easy to scrap the honey away from the frames but you only need the scraper and the hook.

- Frame spacer

In order to separate the frames from each other, we use little cubes of wood to hold the frames in the right position. These wooden pieces are called the frame spacers. If you did not use these very small pieces of wood, then the frames may stick together and be very hard to get out of the hive.

- The smoke box

This is one of the most important bee hive supplies as it is used as a protective measure when working on the hive. The smoke prevents the guard bee from warning the other bees that some one opened the hive so you keep yourself safe from being stung.
