It can be done quickly and correctly if you are organized with your cleaning products and supplies. Many people still keep all of their cleaning supplies under their kitchen sink or on a shelf in the laundry room but this is not very organized at all. Then you have to take time (which most of us don’t have enough of) and gather all of them together before you can ever actually start cleaning. Let’s make the cleaning of your bathroom quick.
1, soap supplies, . First off let’s organize those cleaning supplies.
You can go to any of your local merchandisers and pick up either (1) plastic buckets or (2) plastic divided carry all with handles. These are quiet inexpensive to purchase and last for a very long time. Now place your entire bathroom cleaning supplies in your chosen method of organization. Don’t forget to throw in your paper towels and your cleaning rags.
2. Remove anything in your bathroom that is easily moved out and in the way of cleaning your floors, counter tops and windowsills. Once this is all moved out of your way it makes for quicker surface cleaning once you have started.
3. Next use your choice of cleaning product for your shower surround and bathtub. Allow time to soak into the soap scum which becomes the fastest way to clean your shower/tub. Once you have sprayed down all surfaces now allow it to stand and soak, move on to the next cleaning project.
4. Your vanity and sink(s). Spray this area down as well and while giving it time to soak get out your glass cleaner and paper towels. Spray your glass cleaner onto the mirror(s) and the windows, one at a time of course.
Wipe down very well with your paper towels or recycled paper for a streak free finish.
5. Now return to your sink and vanity. Wet one of your old rags and wipe the soap scum and dust away. Don’t forget about your faucets as well. Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry with your paper towels or cleaning rag.
6. Back to your shower/tub, which has been soaking in the cleaner for about 15 minutes. This should be sufficient time in which to have soaked a great portion of the soap scum and any mildew away.
Use the same wet rag and wipe down the entire shower/tub area. Rinse thoroughly.
7. Now comes the worst part of cleaning a bathroom. That is your toilet and toilet bowl. This is where the majority of all the germs in your bathroom are located Apply the toilet bowl cleaner of your choice and let this stand while cleaning the rest of the toilet. Now apply some of your cleaning product to a clean wet rag and start washing the outer parts of your toilet. Don’t forget to do the base of the toilet as well.
Germs hide everywhere here, clean the entire outside area be sure and wipe down the lids, both tops and undersides as well. Sprinkle your cleaner in the bowl and scrub, also placing the brush on the underside of the lip. Flush when finished.. You are all finished move on to the floor.
8. Vacuum them or sweep the floor. Whatever and however you decide to clean your floors always start in the back of your bathroom working your way towards the door. Much quicker now that you have removed everything that’s not nailed down that was on your floors.
After mopping your way out the bathroom door then empty your bucket, or put away your mop along with all of your cleaning supplies which you have placed back into your carrier for the next time you clean your bathroom. Place all of your items back into the bath once the floor has dried. Once a month don’t forget to throw your shower curtain in the wash!
After many years of scrubbing my own bathroom I have found these to be the quickest steps to follow. On average (depending on how dirty my bathroom was) it takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 45 minutes leaving more time for other things that I prefer to do.
